These business cards were designed for Robert Heckel, an Architect and Attorney located in San Diego, CA. His branding, which I designed for him a couple years ago, is simple and elegant. We wanted to do something fun with the shape of the little architectural structure shape (say that 10 times fast!). I suggested making a pattern out of it using Blind Spot UV, which means that the shapes have no color when printed, but a layer of gloss is then applied in the shape of the structures. This is what we ended up with! The base of the card is a smooth and sturdy silk laminated 15pt card stock in an ivory tone, while the spot UV is bold and slightly raised.
